The perfect oceanfront experience. Such a cozy lodge situated directly across the street from a spectacular beach and dramatic cliffs. We stayed in a fireplace cottage room that had a huge bathtub with views of the ocean. Cute private patio for hanging out and listening to the waves. It was so comfortable, we hardly felt the need to go anywhere else while we were there.Beautiful landscaping, quiet accommodations, and great customer service. We didn’t want to leave. And check out the pics, that ocean view was right across the street. Just beautiful.

We enjoyed our two night stay very much. The space itself is very nice. Comfy pillows and bed, soft towels, lovely bed linens, fireplace was fun, thanks for including wood! Loved the grounds and used the fire pits both nights. Next time we plan to use shuffleboard, corn hole games. Our dog LOVED having a big lawn to himself to play fetch. (No dogs on the beach😉) Reception host (Gavin, I think) was so friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful; he gave us a great welcome feeling right off. There’s no doubt we will come again and again.Improvements I’d suggest: get a ping pong table; add more interior lighting; really, really need luggage racks, because there is no closet space to speak of and not that much drawer space; please shampoo the carpets (ours was filthy, Rm 143), make sure spider webs are cleaned from cathedral ceilings (nest in our room), and the whole floor has been mopped. Guests should be able to get one bag of wood per night, not one per stay- same for coffees. We requested more for the following day, but didn’t receive. None of these deficiencies would deter us from staying again, these small details would enhance guests’ experiences. Thanks for a fun weekend with friends!

Fantastic location. Can walk to beach, 5 min drive into Cambria. Be apart of the Moonstone Beach strip without being in the middle of the bustle. Rooms were clean and nice. Loved the fireplace and bathtub. Only con was the bed was not very comfortable. Otherwise, 4 stars.

Mette G — Google review

Currently staying here. Have never written a review after being at a hotel for two hours. Giving two stars because the location is beautiful. The pictures are not as advertised, and for the price, I was expecting a bit more. There is no a/c nor windows. The only airflow is from the patio screen door which does not lock. I brought my concerns to the front desk as this is the only option to have air and I’m a single woman. She said, flippantly , of course it’s safe. I am next to the pool and one would expect noise from the guests. Nope. The pool is gurgling non-stop, think loud drain. There is also another loud echo, and vibration. Unfortunately because there’s no other option for air. So I have loud noises, don’t feel safe, and no privacy on a vacation I’m taking for self care and rest at $300 a night.

I had such a wonderful time at Oceanpoint Ranch. The rooms were very cozy and comfortable. We stayed in the Lone Star Oceanfront Cabin - which had a tub and a fireplace. It's located right across from the beach - we walked to the beach every morning and evening. The Sea Chest is also within walking distance.Highly recommend Oceanpoint Ranch!

Very nice place to stay. The staff was excellent and the grounds well kept. The room had a few items that needed maintenance but not terrible. The room was described as "Oceanview", but that was not the case. You could barely see it through a bunch of trees and a public restroom. The real fireplace is a nice touch. No maid service yet. Overall, very peaceful and relaxing.

Loved the location, short walk to the beach. The shower & beds were both wonderful. Lots of amenities on the property. Didn't have time to check it all out but did enjoy sitting at the fire pit after spending time at the beach. Very relaxed feeling. Lots of activities to be as active as you wanted or just sit and relax. Will definitely be back.

I brought two of my adult children here with their families and they loved it. It's so relaxing and laid back. You can walk through the trees, by the cliffs or venture down to a couple access points on the beaches (Low tide is best). They all want to come back and bring their extended families. It was a great tome to rejuvenate ourselves and get closer together as a family.

Exceptional, friendly staff beautiful rooms and property! Great location. Enjoy the outdoor fire pits, game room. Great walking beach access. Rooms were clean and love the modern ranch style decor! The restaurant in site was great!

Wow! Access to a private beach, tons of grass, firepits, clean pool, golf greens and the activities on site are a nice perk. We were amazed with this place! Will return as often as we can. Very dog friendly which is important to us!

The location of the resort is outstanding. However everything else has much to be desired. To us the hotel staff seemed most concerned about reciting hotel policy versus addressing the many issues we had during our stay. The rooms are dated, not well lighted, cheap coffee maker, hard to sleep when you have to listen to the pounding foot steps and bathroom noises above/around you. Phone didn’t work, door keypad stopped working, bathroom plumbing squealed, bathroom sink drain leaked, provided only one (approved) small bag of wood to use in the fireplace for a multiple night stay, housekeeping wasn’t available at 8am so we could get more towels, and room heater didn’t work. The location deserves a 5 Star Rating, but the Quality of the Room deserves 2 Stars at best, and since it appears that what is most important to the hotel is simply to nickel and dime you for profit I would suggest they replace all staff (except who cleans the rooms) with vending machines.

We had a wonderful stay in a cabin room. The property was probably built in the 1960s and it occasionally shows, but everything has been nicely maintained. The incredible staff - including Sandy, who was by far the best concierge we've ever met - and the outstanding countryside more than made up for any complaints. The property has multiple fire pits, an outside game area with a shuffleboard court, horseshoes, croquet, and more. The restaurant is small and a bit understaffed, but the staff that is there is truly wonderful, and the food was absurdly good.

This is always a great place to stay in the San Simeon / Cambria areas. I always get the Lone Star Cabin with an ocean view and it is, rustic, charming, and has a small fireplace. The location is the best with the beach close by and all the area attractions. The amenities are not fancy and they give you only a small bag of kindling which I think could be improved with actual wood, but overall it is a fun place to stay. I think the service could also be improved as last time I only had a thin sheet as a bed cover and it was quite cold. They ended up bringing a thick comforter which was helpful and did the trick.

Great hotel great staff lovely area Easy to walk to multiple restaurants Just a great experience Especially watching the sun go down over the ocean from the front lawn. I would highly recommend this hotels to both couples and families , The pool was immaculate as was the garden in which is sits

The property is very pretty and the location is great...love that it is walking distance to the beach. The room was nice looking, but had none of the things advertised...There is no housekeeping unless you're staying over three days and even then you have to ask for it...There are no closets. There are three small drawers to store your clothes...There are no clocksThere are no full length mirrorsThere are no blow dryersThere is no hand soapThere is no ironThere is no chair or deskThere is no coffee refill if you stay more than one day.The room is small and dark and very cold at night.I would not stay here again...I will not look forward to the automated response.

Such a great experience. Some of the older reviews that we read before coming made it really seem like there were some problems with the property - but clearly it was just something wrong with the reviewer because we had a great time. The room was clean and modern. The bathroom had a red lightbulb that emitted heat which was great after getting out of the shower. The entire property was well kept. The staff were very nice and had a welcoming energy about them. The beach is so easy to access and is beautiful. It was very nice to sit out at the fire pits to have a night cap. Parking was extremely easy and convenient. There were just 3 minor things that I wish I would’ve been told at check-in:1. The light switch by the door controls the fridge2. The WiFi password is at the front desk and you cannot use your last name and room number to access it (it’ll make sense once you try to log in)3. There are no dogs allowed on the beach. The cove is private for hotel guests but the actual beach isn’t. When we walked through the private cove to get to the beach, there was no signage posted about any rules. A park ranger (very politely) told us that dogs weren’t allowed. When we said we walked from the cove the ranger said “oh yes, there are no signs when you come from that way”. Clearly something she was already aware of.If I would’ve been told those things at check-in it’d be a perfect experience.

They close at night so you better arrive by 11. The room is large, coffee machine available. Bathroom small . The website makes them look much better than they are. Huge safety issue, my bathroom window and the room window were both slightly open. Which I did not realize because I arrived very late and jumped on bed. Anyone could have entered my room during the night. Not acceptable

Oceanpoint Ranch is a quaint little property situated on a slice of land between the CA 1 and Moonstone Beach Dr. They have lovely "cabins" (we stayed in #147 on the end) with beautiful views, wood burning fireplace (they provided a wood bundle), very comfortable bed and a claw foot bathtub (There is also a shower). Nice heated pool (no hot tub) and easy beach and bluffs access. Our stay was very relaxing and peaceful. Great customer service; would stay again.*Note : with proximity to CA 1, you will hear early morning highway traffic if you have the windows open.

The hotel staff were all very friendly, the bed was insanely comfortable and the room interior design is really nice. We also appreciated the private walk to the beach without having to cross the busy street with the dogs. Will definitely stay here again!

My fiancée and I stayed at Oceanpoint Ranch to consider it as a wedding venue. While the property was cute, our stay and guest experience was absolutely awful. First, upon check in, the woman at the desk was trying to help a couple that had been locked out of their room. She didn’t have the keys she needed and had to wait for a manager. We got checked in all right, and explored the beautiful property - you can fully walk to beautiful moonstone beach. But, the gorgeous beach access was not enough to make our stay worthwhile. When we returned to our room, the power went out. Luckily we had a fire going. There was no communication from management or the hotel team concerning the outage. The lights came back on and woke us up around 3am.The room was only stocked with two bath towels, two washcloths, and two coffee cups. No hand towels and no water cups. One of the coffee cups fell apart and spilled hot coffee all over my lap.So, I went to the restaurant to get a coffee on our way out. The restaurant was so under staffed that I stood there for 5 minutes without anyone taking my order. I walked out with no coffee and mildly burnt legs. From a wedding venue perspective, the team barely accommodated us. They were reluctant to organize a tour and were not local to the area, so the whole thing sounded like too much of a hassle. From a guest experience perspective, we would never recommend booking this venue. It’s good on a first look, and might be good for a day, but I would never want any of my guests to stay the night here.Overall, the staff seems wildly unhappy, the rooms are not well stocked, and the response to changing logistics is abysmal. Disorganized at best, negligent & greedy at worst. We’ve stayed at motels that are more pleasant than this. We drove by many other cute hotels, so I’d recommend staying somewhere else.

This was a terrible experience I so wanted this room to be great. That was so looking forward to great experiencing Cambria. The room is in the very back of the hotel, and had one small window looking out at other rooms. The room was extremely dark no light you could not hear the ocean there were ants everywhere, including ants everywhere in the bed And the restaurant was never open for dinner

I've have stayed at many hotels through out the years to give my family amazing memories to remember. I booked with Oceanpoint Ranch 07/18/2023 and was schedule to stay for the new year 12/31/2023-01/01/2024. My kids and I were looking forward to all the amenities this location had to offer. I called early because we arrived sooner than expected and asked if any rooms were available for early check in, and I was told none would be ready before 3 pm due to the amount of check ins they had the night before. So I was okay with waiting till 3:30. Keep in mind I booked in July. I traveled with my 15,7,and 5 year old kids. I also flew in my Mother from Mexico to enjoy the new year with us. 2 hours before check in I get a call saying they did not have any rooms available for me and that I could go else where. I was not okay with that decision and drove to the hotel myself to see what happened. When I arrived the assistant manager said there was nothing he could do. After explaining I had three kids and my mother with me. Not many guest had arrived yet so I asked why is it that I have to give my reservation and that it should have been a first come first serve basis. He said there was nothing he could do. He said the best he could do was book me down the street. I said that wasn't good enough. I booked 6 months in advance to give my kids a good new years. We even bought smores to make over the fire place. But nope there was nothing he could do. So I asked for him to call the manager and said there was nothing he could do and if I didn't leave he would call the police. This was the most unfortunate and disheartening experience. I live 3 hours away from this location just to be told there was nothing he could do for my reservation and to call cooperate and hope they answer considering it was a holiday. I truly hope others don't go through this experience with ocean point. It was a major disappointment and customer services was horrible.

DO NOT STAY HERE! The property is beautiful but that’s about all they have going for them. The customer service here is the worst I’ve ever experienced. They did not have keys for us upon arrival and we had to be escorted to our room every time we needed to enter. We were also not informed, but found out later that they were very aware, that there was going to be a power outage. Because of this, guests were locked out of the rooms, and we were left without heat from 7pm to 2am in 40 degree temps. Never were we compensated or given an apology for our inconvenience. Their restaurant, The Cow Tipper, was the icing on the cake. They have one person at the front that takes your order to be paid upfront. This person also is cleaning the tables and serving the food. After over a half hour of waiting for our meal, realizing that no one has even been served, we were then informed by a manager that there was a gas leak. We were then evacuated to wait outside for our meal in the rain. We asked for a refund and decided to head out. An hour later, after packing our bags, there were still the same guest waiting outside the restaurant for their food. They absolutely have no regard for others and do not care about the inconvenience. My husband has called several times after our stay to speak to a manager with no call back. They are either overwhelmed with upset guests, or do not care. I would never recommend someone to stay there due completely upon the customer service. They will leave you high and dry with a smile on their face.

Loved the room decor. The front desk staff was very helpful and friendly. They are pet friendly! We didn't bring our dogs this time, but now we know they don't have to stay home when we visit Cambria.

Love the fireplace and the lights outside during the night. The decoration is very minimal and contemporary and they offer room service which is great for lazy mornings in.

Tina C — Google review

Arrived at the hotel at 7:40 to an empty lobby and a note with a smiley face saying the person would be back at 8:20. Um what!??? I never got a heads up or a phone call that I'd have to wait for my room. Drove to a restaurant to use the restroom and left my mom in the lobby. Several people popped in for various needs to be met by NOTHING. As Irma returned from her break, I was obviously annoyed. I told her we'd been waiting an extended period of time to which she answered, "we have a right to go to lunch". Zero apologies. Clearly she doesn't care about hospitality or this establishment. If I owned this business, I'd be embarrassed by how my employees treated the people that supported my business.
