Where is the flasher relay on a Freightliner? ›

In most cars, the relay is in a junction box along with other relays. Some vehicle manufacturers label the relay on the fuse box cover to make it easier to identify.

The flasher unit may be near by, or behind or under the bonnet or plugged into the fuse box (See ). Check that all the connections are sound and the wires unbroken.

The hazard flasher button is on the instrument panel. Press the button to switch the hazard flashers on if your vehicle is creating a safety hazard for other road users. When you switch the hazard flashers on, all front and rear direction indicators flash.

Yes. The filament of the brake lights and turn signals are shared. The flasher relay is connected to the big filament on the side you are indicating to turn, which is disconnected by the turn signal switch. Both or one of the brake lights may not work if the turn signal switch malfunctions.

A burned-out bulb makes the turn signals blink faster because it changes the resistance in the electric circuit, and that resistance is what makes the turn-signal flasher unit turn the lights on and off at a given pace. Change the resistance and it changes the pace.
